Bushnell Park Foundation Receives Preservation Society Award

May 29, 2002 -- The Bushnell Park Foundation was presented with a Jeffery S. Czopor Award by Hartford Preservation Alliance and the Preservation Week Committee for the renovation work done on the park's Corning Fountain sculpture.

The awards are named in honor of Czopor, one of Hartford's leading preservationists, who died several years ago. The ceremony was one of the highlights of Hartford Preservation Week 2002, which involved the Hartford Preservation Alliance, the Hartford Public School system and other local historical institutions and organizations.

Architect and town planner Patrick Pinnell, who presented the award along with HPA's Matthew Blood and JoAnne Bauer, said the award was  "in recognition and deep appreciation for the Bushnell Park Foundation's contributions that help maintain and enhance the unique urban character and heritage of the City of Hartford."
