DEVELOPMENT
OFFICER Summary The Parisky Group is a
multidisciplinary consulting firm specializing in public policy and nonprofit
management for social and public health issues, environmental and capital
improvement projects. The Development Officer will
lead the firm’s development services, including fund development, donor
cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, grantwriting, and associated
operations; will participate in firm’s work on projects for nonprofit
management support; and will work to develop new markets, clients and
strategies. Requires five or more years
experience in fund development and/or nonprofit management.
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with
experience in both preparing and presenting proposals.
Experience with nonprofit management issues including strategic planning.
Experience with diverse communities required. SPECIFIC
DUTIES: 1.
Provide fund development and
marketing services for the firm’s extensive non-profit client base.
Services range from full-scale fund-raising management to short-term
planning or analysis projects. 2.
Research, identify and pursue new
opportunities for the firm; provide expertise toward developing new public
policy consulting services. 3.
Staff firm projects for nonprofit
management support. 4.
Provide staff support for other
special short- or long-term projects in a variety of issue areas. JOB
REQUIREMENTS: 1.
Five or more years in fund
development, with specific experience in grant-writing, corporate and foundation
giving, and/or public grants/contracts. An
equivalent amount of relevant experience (marketing, communications, corporate
community relations, non-profit management) can partly substitute for less than
five years’ development experience. 2.
Experience with management issues
of nonprofit organizations. 3.
Proven track record in raising
large grants from a variety of sources. 4.
Exemplary writing, communication,
organizational, leadership and diplomatic skills. 5.
Additional experience in financial
management and in information gathering and analysis desirable, including
applied research, strategic planning, public policy analysis. Knowledge of human
services, health and social issues desirable. 6.
Ability to problem solve, work
within multi-agency collaborations, work with diverse public and private sector
groups and individuals constructively. 7.
Ability to perform functions with
high degree of self direction. 8.
Ability to work effectively within
team structure in a small office environment. 9.
Ability to prioritize and plan
effectively, and perform tasks under deadline pressures with high quality
standards. 10.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree
