Hartford Action Plan Wins Supernova AwardOrganization Honored at National ConferenceDecember 3, 2001 -- Advocates
for Youth honored the Hartford
Action Plan on Infant Health, Inc., as the winner of its Supernova Award for 2001 at an award luncheon on December 3, 2001,
at the Wyndham Hotel in Washington, DC. The
Supernova Award was created to honor long-term leadership, dedication, vision,
and positive impact as an agent for change in the area of adolescent sexual and
reproductive health. The
Hartford Action Plan on Infant Health, Inc., has offered programs since 1985
that provide the resources necessary to assist adolescents in making positive,
responsible health decisions, including the innovative “Breaking the Cycle”
teen pregnancy prevention campaign. Action
Plan programs are made possible by a variety of public and private funding
sources, including corporate contributions from MassMutual, CIGNA, The Hartford,
and Travelers/Citigroup.
Advocates
for Youth is an international, nonprofit organization that works in the U.S. and
the developing world to create programs and support policies that help young
people make safe, responsible decisions about their sexual and reproductive
health.
